As the title states, I have for sale a Romanian SAR-3 AKM pattern rifle in 5.56.
I picked this up from another member a few months ago. I recently found a very well priced SLR-106 so I have decided to pass this one along. The previous owner rattlecanned the rifle, but I decided to clean it up with a very gentle paint stripper (Citrustrip) and after a good coat of oil, the rifle looks fantastic again.
I replaced the FCG with a Power Customs / Red Star Arms SAR-3 profiled hammer as well as a Tapco G2 trigger. The stock trigger group was correct, but it had a noticeable slap to it, even with all the usual slap fixes already done. After upgrading the FCG, it has no slap and is now a very crisp trigger.
The stock has a VLTOR RE-47 stock adapter, which allows you to run any AR-15 stocks. It has 5 adjustment lengths and currently has a MFT Battlelink minimalist stock.
The front handguard is a new Magpul AKM Lower HG with heat shield, which retains the factory sling mount. The upper HG is just a black polymer that was given to me by the previous owner, but I do have the matching magpul upper HG if you wish to install it. I am not entirely sure of the pistol grip origin, it was included with the rifle.
The muzzle has been threaded 1/2x28 RH and has a CNC Warrior 74 style brake attached.
Also includes are 4 German weiger 223 magazines (made for this rifle), as well as 2 promag 223 mags. The previous owner installed an upgraded magazine catch which supposedly allows you to utilize some other 223 mags, though I have never tested it. Function with the weigers was flawless over the hundred rounds or so that I put through the rifle. I also have a Bulgarian sling that I can include if the buyer wants it.
I am asking $650 OBO for the rifle. While I am not terribly interested in trades, I will certainly hear them out. A quality 7.62 AK could possibly be considered, but cash offers will take priority.
Located in Prairieville, can drive within reason to meet buyer at a mutually agreed upon location. Feel free to PM me with any questions, etc. Thank you.
