Got this pick on 1/3. On Friday 1/6 he spent 3 hours (2:00pm - 5:00pm) in front of my stand. I have about 30 pics of him but this one is the best. Unfortunately, I was in my office. Hunted the stand all weekend and he never showed. 3 more weeks to get him. Another big 9 in the area....sorry no pic handy. I'll take either one.

Doesn't seem to have much of a body. He's all neck and antlers. Great deer.

He's rutted down pretty bad. All our deer are.

Finally saw this buck and was able to take him. Got him Sunday morning at day break as he was chasing a doe. Pic makes him look a little bigger than he actually is. 18 inch inside spread, 4 1/2 in. bases, 21 in. main beams.

How much did he end up weighing? Nice deer. Where do you hunt?

Just looking at the pic and wondering outloud.... Do you think another deer was near this buck. Ears laid back, focused look on his face and leg raised as if to turn for action.... Ya never know.

Dressed out weight of the deer was 165. We don't take a live weight but i'd guess +200 on the hoof. So he is pretty rutted down but not complete. I hunt on private land in Tensas and there are some big bodied deer up there. Several months ago i posted some pics of some bucks in velvet.....1 was a freak rack buck (4 on one side ~9 on the other). He was taken 2 days before New Year's and dressed out at 235....didn't even looked to have started to rut.

In the instance of this pic i would bet there wasn't another deer around. Reason being this is the 1st and only pic in the sequence of him. The next pics were of does an hour or so later. I'm guessing the flash went off and he got out of there real quick. As mentioned earlier i have probably 30 more pics of him all of which he stayed around the camera for a while. So i'm guessing it was possibly his first time getting his pic taken and it spooked him. Pretty interesting....when i checked my camera after i shot him the last pic on the camera was of him at 5:00 a.m. about an hour and 45 min. before his demise. He had been at the camera from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Dave,
This is Brandon. I take it you got your camera fixed? Checked mine the other day over a scrape. It had 15 pics. Can't wait to see wants on it.
