Black Mamba ?

I know two guys that caught rattlesnakes and were holding them just like in those photos. Both of them were bitten when the rattlesnakes managed to maneuver just enough to sink a fang in them.

Both of these guys nearly died from the experience and spent a long time in the hospital. They now have permanent scarring and nerve damage. It's never a good idea to handle a poisonous snake no matter how good you think you are at it.

Theirs only one good snake and that is a dead snake and still you have to be careful with it.

Looks like a plain, ole, harmless water snake.

All snakes will bite eventually if they are handled in the wrong way, looks like a water snake to me also, definitely not a Black Mamba, one of the most poisonous snakes in the world, aggressive and would not take kind to any handling. They should have a class in identification before handling in the future....

looks like a black rat snake. pretty harmless, except for rodents.

I was wrong guys, it wasn't a Black Mamba, It was a King cobra, a 40 oz.
Just kidding we catch him all the time. He lives in our backyard.

That is a Yellow Belly Water Snake.

if you think that this is a black mamba your pretty dumb because black mambas do not live in louisiana this is a regular water snake

watch the show "Venom ER" it's on TLC or Discovery. about an ER Doc who specializes in snake bites in the SW U.S. After growing up on the St Louis Canal in Houma, I thought I knew a lot about venomous snakes. I know a good bit about Mocassins and Copperheads, but there is MUCH MORE TO KNOW.

There are some bad azz rattle snakes out there that pack a serious punch, and seems like almost every person reacts in a different way to the venom.

The guy that posted this works with me at Dow Chemical. I got this email from him and I just had to tell you guys here what a complete idiot he is. The man couldn't tell the difference between a white tail and a yellow fin. Now Troy thinks he caught a black mamba, and this sure isn't a joke he rants about stupid stuff like this all the time. Hopefully one of these days he'll learn but until then I'll just have to listen to his idiotic comments.

In case you guy's haven't figured it out yet, Dude is a flaming homosexual who would rather make candles then be in the outdoors. If a snake like this approached him he could be heard screaming like a little girl from miles away.
