Super Swamper

This swamp beast has been showing up on Trail cam for a few weeks and has literally been running all other bucks off of the oak ridge. My son missed him during muzzle loader week, and he busted another hunter in his stand Monday morning. Monday evening, I personally witnessed his aggressive behavior towards other deer about 20 seconds before my .270WSM laid him out. Maybe we can get the other bucks back on the ridge with him out of the picture...

Doink, this is my first year shooting a 270 wsm. I've always shot a 270 Win. The only bullet my gun shot well was a core lokt, and so far it has done well on the 2 does I have shot with it. Just curious, what bullet are you shooting out of your 270 wsm and how do you like it?

That is an awesome deer congratulations. Lots of character on that monster.

But is it just me? Or do all bucks look bigger on trail cams compared to after the kill shots? Never fails.

I thought it was illegal to use a rifle in St. Charles parish?

I shoot the standard Winchester silvertips (I believe 120 grn) in a Tikka T3 Lite stainless with a Conquest 4x14 and it is the most accurate combo I've ever shot hands down. Closest thing to a tack driver I've ever seen.

Rifle illegal in St. Charles? Never heard that one. I know they are illegal in Salvador WMA. They are perfectly legal on private land.

And yes, the trail cam angle makes this deer look really thick, when in fact it only weightd 160..

Hey, Doink, I emailed you earlier, but haven't received an answer. I'd like to talk to you about the big deer, so please shoot me over your cell number and I'll call in the morning.

Rifle illegal in St. Charles .... been shooting one 21 years never had and issue. Doink assuming you hunt not for from me along a certain long straight road thats an awesome deer. My grandpa got a good 9 last week that looks like he got a butt whooping from your beast. I read an article that says in rut a good buck will travel several miles we never saw this 9 on camera so he was new to our area so as you are hoping the other bucks return to your place we will greatly miss him as we have downed 3-9s and a nice 8 already this year. There are still plenty of deer in this swamp that people just dont want to work to get

I have some trail cam pics of a big 9 point down that long road. The only deer hunting in St. Charles is pretty much swamp or marsh hunting unless you hunt da bunch. And yes, there are some beasts roaming the swamps.. You just gotta get out there and work a little to get them..
