It is public but if you head there, you better be prepared. It's the last place in central La. that the officials turn a blind eye to 'ownership'. Blinds are passed down from generation to generation and are 'owned'. Unless you have family hunting out there, they will no welcome you if you know what I mean.

Its public. Yours and our tax dollars pay for it. You got more right to use it than the one tooth wonders that never pay taxes do...

MadeToGo is that supposed to be a slight against the people that live there? It is public but it is true that blinds are owned and passed down but there are still places to shoot a few ducks. With that being said if you dont have a couple hundred decoys you'll be wasting your time this late in the year. There are some guide services on the lake. L&L is located out of Jena, LA.

I have all my teeth, pay my taxes and hunt on Catahoula lake....hmmmm. Maybe he is talking about somewhere else other than our great state.

Indeed public..plus a 60,000 acre WMA next door that provides excellent hunting year round. Been a very productive year for us...best in 7 years thus far...might be the best in 8 after this weekend.
