Blind Retriever

Check out this video of our dog gator. He was diagnosed with SARDS( Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) this year before duck season and has went completely blind. This still hasn't prevented him from retrieving. I posted a video of it on youtube. It's pretty amazing. Search 'Gator the Blind Retriever'. The link is also listed below.

This goes to show you a mans true best friend. I'm glad you didn't just give up on him. Although he can't see anymore, he still get to do what he loves to do, not retreiving ducks, which i'm sure he loves it, but make you happy and be by your side in the blind. This is what its about, you adapting to his disability and making it work. Thats a cool video. LA sportsman should do an article on you two. He will no doubt have incredible hearing and smell, way above what he had previously. The body will refine those to make up for the loss. Im willing to bet his nose is incredible.
