Leeville Report

Reply
Made the trip to Leeville Tuesday the 15th. Started off with a very low tide in fact it was an extremly low tide, the lowest I have seen in awhile. On the third cast of the morning useing live minnows from Terry's bait shop I landed a large Bull red. It was the only fish landed until about 2:00 pm when the water started moving back in. We ended the day with three Reds, several throw backs, two Flounders & 450,000 Gnats. Didn't even see a Spec. It was still a good day to be out on the water.

KoKo does the bounce work and this may sound stupid but does the scent free work,my wife has COPD and any scent could trigger adeadly attack.

Never tied the scent free, but the scented works great. I take one and rub all exposed skin and then tuck one in each sleeve, each pant leg and one under each side of my hat leaving half of each exposed and yes I look funny as heck, but I am not bothered by the Gnats. It couldn't hurt to try the scent free, you can always put them in the dryer if they don't keep the gnats away...just a thought.

The gnats were catch and release...LOL....As far as the bounce it was sitting on the kitchen counter back home along with the sunscreen and of course the wife blames me for leaving it.

Good report Squid, We fished Leeville Sunday with similar results. Water was extremely low. We fished just south of Leeville and found reds and drums stacked up on the flats. They were in about 1.5' of water but didn't want to bite. we wound up enticing a few. The water was clear and you could troll right up to them, but it was hard to get a bite. We had to leave at 1. I was hoping to stay later and see if they would turn on.
