Followed up last Friday's fishing extravaganza with a trip on the following Tuesday, March 1st. Started out fishing for bass but after hooking a sac-a-lait on a crankbait, we switched to light line, corks and tube-jigs. We kept 34 sac-a-lait and caught at least 20 of those from one hole. Went back to bass fishing after 3pm and caught 6 keepers and kept 5. Our best 5 would have been 14+ pounds. Spinnerbaits caught all the keepers.

Nice catch, what color tube jig were yall using, and what kind of cork. I never really fished sacalait before, but all the hype about it made me want to try, so i went out and try a few times with no luck catching 3 at the most. are you using a sliding cork or a regular perch cork, how deep to fish, and what type of area should i be fishing. thanks for any info.

Black and chartruese, Blue and white or silver for the tube jigs. 1/32 or 1/64 oz jig heads about 18 to 24' under the cork. I use the long styrofoam corks with the peg so you can quickly adjust the depth. Brushtops and stumps are holding them right now because they are spawning. The black ones are the roosters and the white ones are the hens. Don't want to use anything heavier than 6# test line. Fished the subdivision in Stephensville but I hear the trees in east Lake Verrett are giving them up as well.
