I AM PLANNING ON RENTING A CANOE AT LAKE FAUSSE POINT STATE PARK AND TRYING MY LUCK WITH THE PERCH. ANYBODY FAMILIAR WITH FISHING THIS AREA? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

I wish I could help but I don't know anything. However, If you go can you post something about it because my company had planned a weekend there that got moved because no one knew anything about the place. Would appreciate any info that may help us make a decision about it next time.

One of my favorite camping spots, good luck on catching perch, you may have to go on the other side of the levee for some good fishing. I have caught some really nice catfish in lake Dautrive though, but I´m sure if you go behind the campsites that have the warfs, people throw a lot of food scraps there and surely you can catch a few bream there. Hope this helps

You and your company would have a great time at Fausse Point, and be sure to bring the wives. There´s plenty to do and see. Just a few miles down the levee heading south, there´s a boat landing on the other side of the levee where you can catch crawfishermen coming out and buy some of the best eating crawfish in the state. There´s plenty of nature trails and wildlife and you will always meet the freindlyest people around. There´s stuff for the kids too.
