To all deer hunters in LA

To all deer hunters in LA, shoot any cyote you see, even if it ruins the chance of getting a deer. A bad day of deer hunting is better than a day you see a deer get attacked by cyotes. Comment if you saw or shot a cyote over the next two weeks. Would like to hear that a cyote has been shot. Thanks.

'ya all are right...but w/no offence years ago they used to be plenty duck and bird boxes faceing South on poles and trees...way above Wiley's reach...somehow it seems the 'Dept' replaced these boxes w/ bonuses ???...even their own publication Louisiana Conservationist Magazine mentioned in one key artical they praised the K9 for eating alligator and rattlesnake eggs and if I recall nutria and young hogs was included...and lets not forget the armadillo that carried leprosy ???...then a few LSU ' Wizards' got hired and messed w/the 'blame program' !!!...they even had the nerve to say we were the only 'misfits' in nature...cheers ???

Ill do my part as soon as deer season is over. My hunting partner and I gave a call to a Mississippi friend today . he lets us hunt turkeys on several tracts up there. He has a yote problem and intends on thinning them out some. After deer season Im going to thin them out in St Helena on my property if I can . They are bad for baby deer, turkey and quail nests baby turkeys and quail . I cant think of anything they are good for other than targets .

Went hunting the other morning while putting out decoys & rags & saw 4 watching me from the levee it was before shooting hours so didn't risk shooting them.

Coyotes must be shot on sight!

Every deer hunter needs to make a commitment that if he sees a coyote during a deer hunt, he will drop the coyote and sacrifice his hunt.

I saw several game camera pics recently of two coyotes, at night, constantly biting at a nice 10 pointer in velvet until the deer succumbed to the bites, fell and the coyotes ate him ALIVE. There were several day time pics of buzzards finishing the buck off...

What a serious waste of a trophy?!?

Two years ago I purchased a pretty expensive electronic call and tried several days at different times to get some coyotes. I know they are in the area (game cams and sign). The called never worked for me. I am still very interested in shooting some. How about some tips for getting them to come in. On a neighboring property I was told they have dipatched 5 this season using a deer can call. Anyone else have any suggestions?

I have shot 12 in the past 4 weeks on my property. I could care less whether the hunting gets screwed up. I hate those rascally dogs.

blitzdog1, i would use some type of dead animal, like a bird; dove, quail, duck, goose, you name it. breast the birds, more ethical. Maybe try a dying rabbit decoy (dont feel bad admiral) along with the dying cottontail stress call. MOJO decoys sells a dying woodpecker decoy that makes the woodpecker look wounded. Anyway, thanks for all the coments guys, keep bringin' em on!

I killed one about two weeks ago! They are stacked up in vacherie area through the cane feilds it sounds like they have 100 of them suckers on the lease everytime a train passes! Wondering if anybody in the general area has tried to call them during the off season and should I put some type of guts to draw them into a big opening two increase my chances

A few weeks back while hunting ducks at the wax we heard a pack of yotes going ballistic as if they were doing the deed. 2 days later leaving the same blind we see a big group of vultures gathered around a small levee in the pond we were hunting so we decided to investigate. this is what we found. Now there is no way of guaranteeing this is what they were after, but I'd bet a chunk of change that it was. Never pass up a chance to shoot a predator. They will ruin more than one hunt for you if you do.

I love to deer hunt, nothin more id like to do then freeze my tail off for a freezer full of meat.at the same time(and here comes yall crap talkin) ive had big deer walk right under my stand and never seen me with my head pokin out.I have had a coyote spot me through a 6' port from 300 yards away close to dawn.ever since ive been addicted. If i told my dad this hed be pissed but 'Id' consider shootin the dog a better trophy than a ten point anyway.

a few pointers 'blitz' u can make a cheap decoy from a 'weazel ball' instead of spending $60(saw it on a website).and if its a real problem soak a sponge in blood.not to waste meat either ill cut the yote up and feed it to my dogs, lmao they seem to love it.
