Estrous scents

Reply
Has anyone been having success with any 'doe in heat' products? I have been putting out code blue doe in estrous for my last few hunts and I can't say it's helped. I know it's not magic and I've seen it work on bucks in the past. Hit me with some successful stories. I know the rut is in full swing here so I guess persistence may pay off soon.

Part of the success with using scent is using the wind to your advantage. It could b somewhat useless. Say.... During the rut...... Cold months, wind is most often gonna b frm the north. So, the beneficial moment would b to hope the bucks are traveling downwind scent checkn the air. In my instance, that means relying souly that the bucks n my area r cruisn s of me to hook up w the scent. Or, that they'll cruise s of my plot , hang in the woods( where I can't c them) and eye the plot from afar to check. I feel that decoying with estrous would be more beneficial. It assures bruiser tha lady's are grazing and will more than likely draw that thicket dwelling buck from cover. Just my 3 cents.

Here's a good personal story and testament to this product. Last year I was hunting during the rut and sprayed some on the bottom of my boots as I walked to my stand and sprayed the rest just before I got into the stand. Hunted til about 9:30am and only saw a 7pt out of range. As I was walking back to my truck next to an open field I saw this brown flash running across the field to cut me off. He headed me off and finally stopped about 10 yards shy of me. It was the 7pt. I honestly thought I may have to shoot him just to defend myself. I would've taken him but he was only 2 and had a broken tine on one side. After we exchanged a few odd looks and he realized I wasn't what he was looking for he took off. A buck can't resist the smell of those buck bombs. Try one out.
