Still killing limits near vermillion bay. i dont get in marsh till 8 or 9 and hunt till 12 or 1. We are killing a few ducks in ponds with blinds but i have been doing great in ponds/pot holes/ and wide mudboat ditches with 4 decoys at most. I had 3 guys with me friday. i put them 200 yards apart in grass next to mud boat ditch that is about 100 ft wide. Got there at 8 and all 4 of us were done about 11 with a total of 8 green wing and 16 greys. Ducks are still here. you just have to change your tactics up.

We have a lake that no one on our lease ever wants to hunt because they say it sucks. The last 2 years i go there on last weekend and sit on a edge of the lake whereever the coots are hanging at. We limit out last 2 days last 2 years using same tactic.

I would deffently have to agree with you there. We hunt in Pecan Island and the last two weeks we have not hunted in any of our blinds and have still managed to make good hunts. Hunting later in the morning this time of the year is def. a plus as most of the ducks we shoot is between 8:00 and 11:30 in the morning. Moving decoys around is also a good idea as we have been taking 1-2 dozen each time we go and put them in different piles all over our pond. We have been hunting off points in natural cover and the ducks just come right in, not much calling required this time of year. If we would still be sitting in our blind with 100 plus decoys right in front of it we might be scratching out 2-3 birds a hunt. Thinking about grabbing 2-3 decoys this last weekend and do some pothole hunting, this always seems to work later in the year.

We shot a 3 man limit today in SE LA between 9:30 and 12:15. I like it when I can sleep in. Every year from about Christmas time on, I tend to not go out till 8 or 9 unless I have somewhere to be then I will set up a daylight. The big ducks work better later in the day too.
