It's tough this time of year in Rockefeller, they close a few of the canals I use for reds in the winter time due to them being so shallow and people getting stuck. Also, with low water being the norm there in the winter, you really are limited to where you can go. As far as reds go, you can try the Bertrand Canal. I find live shrimp on the bottom works best in the winter time. And if you are concerned about the water level, you can call the Wildlife and Fisheries station that is located in the refuge. I've called them more than once to see what the water looked like and the level. When the weather starts to warm up and the winds begin to stabilize I can really help you out with the reds. I'm not to big on fishing trout in that area, cause it is really hit or miss. If you go, let me know how you do. Good luck!
