I've never hunted timber like that. Looks to be a blast. Question. Is the water covered with salvinia? I've always heard that it made previously great areas virtually unhuntable. This video would disspell that idea....if it is salvinia.

Looks like duck weed to me. Could be wrong though

yes it was duckweed just plain beautiful in there.

What is the difference between Duckweed and Salvina?

Duck weed is duck friendly. Salvinia is not duck friendly. Duck weed is like teeny tiny round lilly pads the size of a pin head. Ducks can swim in it. You can still paddle in it. It does not affect the waterflow and ducks will eat it. Whereas Salvinia is thick mats of vegatation so thick you can walk on it. It chokes the entire swamp. Ducks cannot land in it either or do they eat it. Maurpeaus swamp back in the 80's was all duck weed. Now it it's all Salvinia which ruined this swamp as a wintering ground for mallards in SE LA.

BTW - Nice videos. Peta would have a field day with those. :)

good looking duck hole, but yalls formation of people sittin there duck hunting is goin to get somebody shot. espically the guy yall have in front. not real safe

My first reaction was also the safety factor. There's been several people killed in duck hunting accident when one stood up in front the other or somebody swung around for a shot--and that's when everyone's sitting in a blind right next to each other.

To me, it just looks like the staggered posts are asking for trouble in the heat of the moment.

You've got a great looking spot and I'd hate to see something tragic happen.

Great video and hunt safe!

I understand the one clip in the video may look as if the one shot was very close to my buddy. The domed lense of the GoPro makes it look that way. Shooting 3.5 shells in the hole tends to ring ears at times.

The person is front is my son he was never in danger at anytime. Again the domed lens of the GoPro is deceiving.

What kind of birds are you shooting in there? My buddy has a place in Monteray not to far from Pineville, has some flooded cypress sloughs that we were thinking of trying this year.

Nice shoot ... But it doesn't matter what kind of lense you have . Your still standing behind other people , including your son . Anything could happen there , even your the safest person in the world , you can still slip or trip and if your gun falls in their direction and goes off it wouldn't be pretty .

Not trying to rain on your parade , looks like y'all had a good time . If it were me I would position the shooters where there is no chance of an accident . You shot just left of your buddys head and rang his ears . Something like that only takes one mishap and you'll regret it forever .

Good video boys. The song helps out a lot too. What song is in this one and your other video?

Video 1 is 'Denial' by Sevendust and the other is 'Bodies' by Drowning Pool.
