I think you did the wrong thing...if you really have the serial number and all that you say you should not have moved it until you contacted the authorities that could have really solved the pro blem. even if the camp owners are not the thieves they should know who was at that camp during the time frame that the property was stolen and could get to the bottom of the problem. just my 2 cents because this will happen again in the same area if not taken care of.
