This only true if you can identify the ducks when you shoot them in the air, if not I would not recommend this. Wouldn't be nice if a hunter ended up with too many of one species (i.e. scaup, pintail, mottled ducks) b/c he did not know what he was shooting.
re: blind - as others said, just bring some roseau and build a make shift blind by putting the cane around the pirogue. If the grass is high where you are hunting then you may not even need the cane. You can also flip the pirogue upside down and sit on top of it.
