Yes the aj was released as stated in my comment. We went aj jigging just for fun. They broke of at least 10 of our jigs. That was the biggest croaker Ive ever seen ,and we caught another one right under 3 lb.We was targeting mangrove and snapper in east bay,but no luck . Mangroves was on strike yesterday. As far as weather it said 2-3 ft. sea. We was in a 23 bay ranger, but there was plenty other bayboat out there even a 17 ft. deep v. 2-3 ft seas but very doable . Ran further out and the snappers was at the bottom 250 ft. there was alot if vermillion snappers also, and some sharks too.Every boat around us caught fish.Last rig was 450ft. I decided to drop shot a frozen croaker that we bought on the trip. Something big hit it.My prediction is a 70 plus aj that broke off. Never had a problem with 50 lbs ajs last year on this setup. I couldnt lift him up, then he broke off by the hook.
