Stabilizer for bow

Reply

Wanting to replace my old Doinker stabilizer. Looking at the Sims LimbSaver Modular Stabilizer. Anyone have any experience with this one? Is there another stabilizer that anyone would recommend? Also, I was thinking about adding a string stopper to my bow. Are these worth it or just a gimmick?

Why change the stabilizer? Does it make noise when you shoot? Is it about to fall off? Take the money and buy some arrows or a new string and cable.

I feel like the bow is louder than it should be. The stabilizer is fairly old so I was just wondering if a newer model would do a better job. I also think a heavier stabilizer may help balance the bow a little better. String and arrows are new.

Do you have string silencers and limb silencers? They help it to be a little more quiete. The only people that I see with fancy stabilizers are target shooters. For hunting short is best. I wouldn't change my stock stabilizer unless it broke or fell off. There's too many other things to buy in the sport of hunting archery. Is it louder than when you bought it? Try looking at the string stopper, and see if it's loose. The timing may need to be adjusted also.

Yep, I have the silencers you mentioned. Not sure if it's my imagination but it does seem louder than it did a few years ago. I need to have someone shoot it while I'm standing on the side. Maybe it just seems loud to me while I'm shooting.

Go see the guys at Bowie Outfitters. Not too far from you. They can confirm the issue if there is one. Timing is important for noise and function. Of all the shops around BR, they got it going on the best for issues like that. If it's all right they will give you the best advise for add ons. I've shot 3-D a few times with them, and they seem on the up and up, with no bull. It will be worth your time and money.
