Nautic star fish box

Aight Nautic star owners....I don't think my fish box is insulated very well. How long does yours hold ice ? Also, what can I do to make it hold ice longer. I have only put ice in it once and about 4-6 hours later it was half melted. '2bags' ... I think I am going to put silicone in all the gaps at the top and use 3/4 wide by 7/16th thick silicone weather striping along the top were it closes. That might help some. Anybody else know what to try ???? I would like a full 12 hours of at least a good slush. Boat is a 2007 2110 model. Thanks

I have a 2010 1810 NauticBay. I have the same issue with the 'insulated' fish box. It's really my only gripe with the boat. Early Spring/Fall fishing it holds ok, but Summer fishing it is mostly melted by the end of a 6-7 hour trip (5am till about 11am). This is with usually 3 twenty lb. bags of ice. I've started carrying an ice chest on the boat, but that defeats the purpose of having an insulated fish box built in. Clearly the top hatch is not insulated since it's just a fiberglass lid. I imagine they must blow a bunch of foam insulation around the bottom and sides of the fish box so they can call it insulated. It's also a PITA to clean.

I own a 2008 2110 and had the same problem with the fish box. I glued a piece of 1' thick polyethylene foam to the lid. It's not like an icechest but helped. I use that box for my drinks and the ice chest for the fish. I can just pick up the ice chest and bring to the cleaning table.
