DUCK SEASON

Reply
After a pretty good teal season we are eagerly awaiting the upcoming coastal zone duck season. Went for a ride this morning on the leases and saw lots of birds. Lots of blue winged teal have continued to move into our marshes. Saw a handful of grays but its still way too early for the big concentrations to get here. Since the water went down a little we noticed some vegetation on the bottom of some of the ponds. That is a good sign. There still is time for it to grow. Anyway after Hurricane Gustav we had a great season even though we had no visible grass. The birds were feeding on snails and other animal matter.
That being said we are currently booking duck hunts for the youth and regular seasons. YOUTH DATES are November 3-4 and the regular coastal zone season is November 10-December 2 and December 15-January 20. We are giving SPECIAL RATES FOR THE YOUTH DATES and it includes one box of .12,.20 or .410 gauge steel shot shells per youth per day.
