Biloxi WMA

Went to scout and fish Biloxi WMA Saturday before the big game. Saw a lot of boats fishing and ran through the marsh and saw a good number of ducks moving around. Mostly grey ducks with a few mottled's and teal. They greys are thick and I know they are sitting around in there. Heard about some Youth limits both days.

I hope everyone gets out there this coming weekend and gets on 'em!

They dont have half the ducks they had last year but its probably enough to get a few shots. The storm hurt it pretty bad. A few spots had real good numbers but you really really really gotta know where to go...they are super concentrated.

I agree with that, but I saw plenty of enough that sealed the deal for me this coming weekend.

I hope to find some fish as well.

I was surprised at the lack of variety of birds out there...no bufflheads, redheads, widgeon, dogris,,, none of that whatever they had was gadwall and thats it...not even any teal really....i hope the fronts push some more around..im goin to go scout one more time before the opener...if i can even go im working shutdown at plant only getting off few days here and there...good luck though...you can tell the feed was gone but oh well it is what it is..make best of it.

Yea the water is really low for october...i was surprised...probably good though to get that much north wind hope it brings the ducks down...water was about 2 feet lower than last time we scouted..

I was down there as well on saturday doing some fishing as well as scouting. Saw mostly greys and teal. Numbers of birds were ok just before the sun went down as i was heading back on la loutre a group of 100 teal passed over. That was the largest group of the day i saw. We jumped lots of small groups of greys all over but never saw any flocks larger than say 20-30 birds max. But ill be down there this weekend to try my luck.

I see you hunt this WMA. I want to make a trip to duck hunt and fish the far north tip of Biloxi WMA, north and west of Magill Lagoon. Do you have any experience in this northern area? Thanks in advance...

Its a 22 mile boat ride in a mudboat to the north part of wma including shortcuts through the marsh..doubt anyone that goes that far for ducks is just gonna throw out easy info...go scout and find out like we do..thats all i can say about that...good luck

Been getting after it pretty good scouting the Pearl and Biloxi Marsh. I think the Pearl has more ducks but they are more spread out. Biloxi has few concentrations of nice flocks. Scouted Friday of last week, and yesterday. Saw numerous mud boats zig zagging scaring birds as always in both. Maybe I'm bias cause I still hunt the old fashion way, but I'm also convinced they push birds out the marsh..:(
