Boss Buck Gravity Feeders

Reply

Just bought 3 Boss Buck Gravity feeders and filled them with protein pellets and corn and the deer haven't touched it. Anybody have problems with deer not eating out of these feeders. Any suggestions on how to get them to start eating?

If their use to only eating corn then you should mix it 75/25 corn over pellets. then the next time 50/50 then all pellets. If thats not the case then I cant help you here.

i started out by pouring just corn in first then mixed the pellets and corn on up in feeder. i threw some out on ground and they ate it. i don't think it's too high

I believe the middle of the feed tube should be 42' from the ground. Also do you have a cam setup? If so you could poor a little on the ground and then see what they do when they approach the feeder. See if maybe they are trying to feed from it or if their just ignoring it all together.

SOYBEANS
Put a bag of rice bran under it after u fill it with soybeans forget about the corn or protein pellets. Soybeans are around 14 percent protein and coons refuse to eat them the protein pellets can be as much as 20 percent protein but the coons like them more than corn. Also it might take as much as a year to get them to start eating out of the feeder so dont get discouraged.
