im goin Saturday. Couldn't make it this weekend.

I went on Saturday and Sunday. Caught a sack each time. We fished the levee dividing the first and second impoundment, and had little trouble filling a sack. Did the best in the second impoundment around the stands of cane. Watch out for snakes; I saw several (one cottonmouth).

My two boys and I went this weekend with very little luck. We caught about 2 lbs trying 4 different spots. We got there early and left at 10:30, ended up buying a sack and going home. I'll try it again in about 2-3 weeks. The guy who caught a sack must have been in the right spot. I would be curious to know how long did it take him to cathc that sack? It was a nice weekend to be with the family having fun. A lot of families were out their having fun, just not catching! Good luck and don't forget to check-in!

On Saturday, I fished from 8:30 to 11:45ish, and on Sunday we fished from 7 to 11. The place to be is on the levee between the first two (easternmost) impoundments. The crawfish are along the levees close to vegetation (not the algae).

Grazie per il suggerimento Piscator. Next to the grass is where I'll be. My pirogue isn't ready yet, so I'm bringing my waders.

I owe you one anyway. You were kind enough last year to hook me up with what was left of your melt. Good luck. Waders are fine by the way. That's all I had.

went yesterday, front road ditch, all alone, 50 nets @ 2 passes, = 1 sack of big boys. tip bring a hard tooth rake. all fishing from bank.

Went this morning. Caught 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket. The water is still too cold. Tried that canal along the road. Didn't catch 1 crawfish. I caught right before you get to the restrooms. Had a few people out there. Not crowded at all. My son and I are chowing down right now. Gonna go back in 2 weeks.

hey can ya catch a few if you walk back there
Reply
Yeah Jls, you can catch a few if you walk back there. There was a guy pulling a wagon there Saturday, and his kids were on their bicycles. I'd wait a couple more weeks though. It's still too cold. Was only catching 3 or 4 per pass.

Walking in is easy . If you catch a sack or two The walk out will be a bit tougher , 1.5 miles to the ponds i believe
