Reply

Fishing with my buddies around town and caught another slab crappie on a bass plastic. We had been fishing at this one pond for two hours flipping at Cypress trees. Right at dark pulled this chunk out.

225 pond
Hey Pond Hopper! I know where you are in your lastest picture. That picture where you said ' The Chunk of the Day'. I live there. A few years ago I helped stock the pond with Crappie. My grand children fish this pond. This pond is CATCH AND RELEASE. The reason they have such good crappie is because people like me have been taking care of this pond and it's catch and release. I feed these fish on a daily bases. I have been doing this since you were probably born. I'm good friends with the NEIGHBOR hood BOARD! I do not appreciate you catching these fish out of this pond and showing everyone in br. If you live here and you fish this pond than that is fine, but you need IDENTIFICATION. You need a YELLOW plastic name card with your name on it . If I see you out their again and you do not have this identification or are not with a member who MUST BE WITH YOU. Then I will contact the police. If you do not want problems then CATCH AND RELEASE AND TAKE PICTURES if u live here. These fish are not to be kept to eat. Fish you eat come from rivers and huge lakes or marsh but not a pond the size of a foot ball field.! I'm watching.....

The Nerve of people
Hey man don't mean to burst your bubble but if you don't live in that neighborhood you can not fish in there. These are private ponds and you have no right to go posting pictures inviting people to come fish these ponds for fish that were purchased and managed with neighborhood funding. If you cant catch fish in public waters then just give up fishing all together because it takes no skill to catch fish from privately stocked ponds.

Look same FISH
That fish you caught looks pretty similar to mine. Same spot. I THROUGH IT BACK! CATCH AND RELEASE. MEMBERS ONLY!

I have lived here for over 25 years. I know every one who fishes this pond. There are people all of the time trying to slip in and fish this pond. As a member of the neighborhood. You have to pay a certain amount of money a month for use of pond. This pays for ' STOCKING', fishing and to maintain the pond. I Know he does not live here. He does not have the guest 'ID' on. He also titled his pictures ' POND HOPPING'. People over the years have stole our bass. The largest bass in this pond is maybe two lb. It's really sad.
If he does live here, he can email me his EXACT address or who he was with. This would clear everything up. If he can not, then he was here illegally. We do not tolerate this here. If he lives here then he has the right to fish, but he needs to clear the air first to hold his ground. Also this is CATCH AND RELEASE POND!!!!!!!!!

If their is a six pounder in their then I must be using the wrong bait. I'm the old man that walks around with suspenders on and I'm always smoking a cigar. You can not miss me. I live right next to wear you took a picture of your latest catch. I work my way around their and just catch and release. Some times fish bite some times they do not. As long as you are WITH a friend and THROW back I have no problem with you fishing. I have to protect what we have. I'm to old to go out to the marshes and ride boats. This is where I fish and only where I fish. I'm friends with the man where that lives by the skinny cut with all the cypress tree's. He has camera's in front of his house and on the lake side. He is always patrolling and asking who lives here. He has been doing this because we have had intruders. It is really sad that these people have to come here and steal what we have. If you catch a lot of fish then good. Take pictures but crop the houses out. I do not want people coming here. Back when I was growing up I caught 9 pound bass in a friends pond. I through it back and just think how big he is today. Thanks

some people just love telling everyone else what to do
i guess you don't 'know every one who fishes this pond.'

it's also his right to post whatever photos he wants. maybe if you were more respectful about ASKING for him to take down the photos with the houses in the background he'd help you out. i know if someone came on here threatening to call the police when i hadn't done anything wrong, i sure wouldn't do them any favors.

WITH A FRIEND
He is obviously there WITH his friend. Someone has to be holding the camera that took the pictures of himself and the fish, right?

He Does not have proper Identification. Even if he is with a member he must have the guest pass on him at all times so their is not a miss confusion. Rules are rules. We may not like all of the LAWS but we Follow them. If they did not have Wild Life In fisheries agents then we would not have fish. If we did not have people like me then we would not have fish. You young people need to respect your elders. We did not get to where are now by luck. When I was about your age Fishing Laws were not as enforced. People would catch what ever when they could get away with it. I stepped in and changed a few of my friends actions. It's the little things that make our lakes, rivers and ponds go as far as they do. When my house is on the News it better be for a good reason not to attract every person from here to China.

Dang... Looks like you struck a raw nerve kid !!!! I wonder how many people actually went driving around looking for that pond ??? I cant believe his friend put cameras up to catch people.

Some people don't have anything else to do but worry about what everyone else is doing. You are wrong for yelling at, insulting and threatening this kid for catching YOUR fish.
If you are so worried sell your house , move to the country and build your own pond. Put posted signs all over and never let anyone in.... That way nobody can fish it but you, and only for catch and release purposes. BTW you better be sure to feed them enough sack food, because they will start aggressively competing for natural forage very soon and a pond that small will get stunted easily.
Good job kid, what this gentleman forgets is that we as fishermen are supposed to be passing the sport of fishing on to younger people, not yelling at them and threatening to have them arrested because he wasn't wearing his name tag for the picture .Did anyone ever think that maybe he didn't want the whole online community to know his name? JUST LIKE NOBODY KNOWS YOURS OLD SCHOOL CAJUN. There were other ways to handle this situation. Even if he did harvest 2 or 3 fish, its not the end of the world. Get over it, he was with his friend and completely legal. You Sir, are the reason young people get turned away from fishing. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Guest of a Guest of a Neighbor?
Hey 225, I want to fish that pond too. Can you ask your friend who lives there to ask you as a guest, then you can ask me as a guest? I will make some little yellow cards with our names on them that say Guest of Person who lives in the Super Secret Neighborhood with the Super Secret Pond of hand-fed fish that are owned by someone other than God himself. It might even be a good place to film a show for LAS tv. We can even do a Super Secret night fishing show so no one sees us out there catching the Neighborhood's fish. Just as long as we black out the houses in the background. Those are the rules, right?.. LOL!

Just curious.
How much do you charge home owners per month? How much does it cost to restock annually?
Why do you have to restock if it's strictly catch and release?

My Name is Mr. Cliff.
If every one is hand fed then no one would survive. The kid needs to learn from us old timers. Fishing with a bamboo stick in a perow is what it is all about. Now days every one has fish finders, boats, and etc. If you can not fish with out a fish finder or big fancy boat then why fish at all. Surviving in the woods by your self is the only way one can really appreciate fishing. Building all the gear from scratch. In 1982 I caught a 32 lb channel cat fish on a shoe line and some good old spam on a camping trip. We did not waist one part of him. Used his remains for bait. His bones for tools. Kids these days need to learn the true meaning of fishing. Start from the bottom, and realize all you need is a fishing rod now days and a little bait. This is what it is about. Sitting on a log as the sun goes down drinking some suds down yonder around the lake or bayou is true fishing. Watch ' Grumpy' old men. They can teach you what fishing is all about. They catch the big cat fish and release him.
The identification is a guest pass. No names must be on their. Fish illegal then you will be prosecuted. As long as the kid is with his friend and throws back his catch then he can fish their when ever. The camera's are not just for people fishing but if some one try's to break in and It allows us to monitor the lake. They recently had non members keeping bass under 10 inches. They were so small and it became ridiculous. I will be walking around the lake and sitting on my porch. I hope all the young fishermen can learn the real ways to fish. - Cliff

It sounds to me that you are kind of selfish. It also sound like you are writing with multiple personalities. One pararaph you are telling 225 that you are going to call the police on him for 'Stealing YOUR fish' and the next writing about how youngsters should learn how to fish and start from the bottom. Here's a story for you: I was fishing in Grand Isle off the bank in the rain one day many years ago. I met a man that welcomed me into his camp (lease) to get out of the rain. He and his family had lunch with me at his camp and showed appreciation that I was fishing and not on the streets selling drugs and robbing people's houses. Maybe if you welcomed kids/younger people like 225 into your Sacred Pond to fish, you would not need all those cameras to watch over your neighborhood. Its just a thought.

If all you have in your pond is two pounders than obviously you are paying too much money for some to 'manage' this pond and could probaly help by removing a few of the smaller fish... the guy wasnt breaking any laws oh great keeper of the fish so why dont you sit on your porch and watch him stroke em cause im pretty sure your shoe string isnt gonna have bass jumping on bank

I can understand
I'm not taking sides, but I kind of understand where the old guy is coming from.... He is a paying member of the home owner's association that allows him to fish the private pond, JUST LIKE MOST OF US PAY LEASE OR CLUB DUES, so you can have a private area to hunt and not have to worry about the 'public' invading on you. Just trying to put it in perspective..... Catch and release is great but I can also understand the old guy's questioning, especially with the last picture... Looks like that sac a lait is heading inside..... Hope y'all can work it out

Just follow the trash
All you have to do is look at the trash at all the run outs along old Hwy by Middendoffs. Check out the trash along the bridge before you get to Joe's landing in Lafitte. People will take over your pond and in no time it will look like a dump. They also hate to walk so they will find ways to drive there car are truck to the pond and leave mud all over the place. If you own a pond you will know what I am talking about.

7mm, these fish arent all from the same pond. The top pic is the only fish from Mr Cliff's neighborhood. The bottom two are from my private pond at my house. The fish was not going inside I had just walked up to the back porch because my dad was inside and wanted to take my picture of the fish.
Mr Cliff, I will see you around sometime. I will be there with a home owner with my guest pass. Like I told you a couple days ago I have no need to keep your fish. I just returened from Toledo bend over the weekend and cught 150 crappie. I fish with my friends during the week because I love to fish. I belong to numerous fishing clubs and plan to fish for LSU. I shall see you around this week and show you that they have bass larger than 2lbs in there. Not to burst your bubble but every fish Ive caught in there has been over 2lbs. Being an avid bass fisherman the biggest bass I have pulled out of there was 7lbs 3oz. My friends and I have an organization at school where we all fish on a daily basis. we fish local ponds (with permission or a homeowner)and take pictures and weigh the fish. we arent those type of kids that are going to intrude and keep your home grown fish. I agree with all the gentleman saying there is no need to bring us young anglers down. My dad agrees with me Im sure you would too but , i mean would you rather a kid out on the street doing drugs and drinking or a kid who hunts and fishes. All im trying to do is cross a point. I am not trying to harass you or be rude. I am just an avid outdoorsman who likes to enjoy being in the outdoors and not being criticized for doing right.

Seems like someone is jealous of this person or just trying to screw with him. If you notice, the old school cajun profile and the 225bout2kicksome1ass were created at around the same time and they happen to be in the same area. Something seems fishy, no pun intended.
