Windy trout and flounders 4-21-13

Another great day on the water today. Aaron Lawler and his buddies Corey and Will showed up at the Reel Inn ready to roll. We left out at safe light with a light wind and a gorgeous sunrise. The first few stops had us hauling a lot of water and small trout. Definitely not what we want! That didn't last long, within about 45 minutes of our start we struck silver. The falling tide coming around a point had the yellowmouths fired up. Power Pole went down and we laid the smack down. At around 8:15 the wind picked up and it didn't take long for it to start pumping 20-25mph and white caps everywhere. We retreated deep into the marsh and found some more trout and a few flatties as lagniappe. Avocado Matrix Shad double rigs and the glow Endura Shrimp under a cork were top producers. I think Corey will be converting to Endura shrimp instead of the DOA's he usually fishes. He fished all day without the lure sliding up his line or having to switch baits. Thanks guys for great time with a lot of laughs. May is just around the corner which means the females will be spawning. We will be targeting them girls with double rigs so if you haven't had the chance to catch trout two at a time now is the time to book a trip!
