gas vs diesel

I'm looking to buy a truck. Looking to spend no more than $25,000. Must be 4x4 and 4 door. Fuel is no issue BC my job pays all my fuel cost. I have a 22' bay boat and pull a trailer with 3-4 4wheelers. But with my budget is have to stay around 2006-2008ish with 80,000 miles on the diesel or I can get a newer gas with less miles. Any input would help.

Gas Vs Diesel Pickup
One man's opinion based on personal experience as I had an F250 4 door long bed diesel. It was a great truck but I did not need the power it offered very much. Every now and then I would tow 10000 lbs or so for a short distance to a local jobsite. I still do that now with my 250 Express van with a 6.0 V-8. The repair and maintenance costs on the gas is less than half and the fuel is cheaper if you do the math. The diesel is much more expensive to purchase as well. Bottom line, unless you need the diesel for the excellent towing capacity, stick with gas. It sounds like a larger V-8 on a 150 will do just fine. By the way, my 2003 6.0 V-8 250 Express has 227000 miles on it and going strong. Good luck.

Since your company is paying for the fuel, you would be a fool to not get a diesel engine even if you didn't pull a boat with it. 06 model would be better because of electrical parts (low quality) mostly come from overseas on the newer models.

thanks
Thanks for the input guys. I went with a diesel. I got a 2006 f-250. I shopped around and I just like the look and how much more room you get with the 250. I don't think I'll regret it I'm loving the power.
