artificials by mrgo rocks or other structure

Just wondering if anyone fishes artificials along the mrgo long or short rocks. I am thinking of doing something new I typically fish live shrimp under cork there but would be fun to do something different. Im not sure if I should cast away from rocks and bounce off bottom so it doesn't get caught up or should I take a lighter jig head and cast towards rocks and let it kind of bounce or fall along the rocks? Any help would help I'm not a very skilled artificial guy. What size weight/plastic/technique/things to look for? I was also thinking about throwing a red fish spinnerbait out there for Reds. Thanks

I've had success (although earlier in the year) using glow or pearl white colored Gulp shrimp with a 1/16th ounce jig head under a cork about 3.5 feet. Actually had bigger trout hitting the Gulp vs. live shrimp. The redfish spinner should work as long as you keep that sucker moving and off the rocks. Good luck.

Im thinking a 3/8 ounce jig with gulp shrimp jumped along bottom. Not sure if that's the best idea but it's something

First thing out there is finding the bait on the rocks and you'll see the fish busting... We use one of two baits and the reds love them just as much as the trout. First is a green hornet colored matrix shad and second is a natural colored suicide croaker both on a 3/8 ounce h and h jig head. Gotta try different retrieves they don't always want the same thing.
