Well we launched at Venice marina and turned out into the beautiful GREEN colored Mississippi River. Yep I said green, for those of you that don't know, the river turn from that good ol chocolate milk river we all know to a beautiful free. During the month of September. We started out fishing some rocks in the river and caught a couple small ones. We then ran south to pass a loutre and caught a few keepers on spinnerbaits. Then around 9 I could tell the tide was beginning to pull out pretty good so we moved to south pass and starte throwing dead shrimp on the bottom. We threw against the grass line in around 4-6 ft of water and caught red after red all between the 16-20 inch range. The rocks are usually really well in the Rowe this time of the year but it seemed the water got alot more pretty around the head of passes area so maybe the rock along southwest pass could produce a little better. We ended the day with 17 reds and 1 sheephead. I will have pictures soon to come.
