Doe Season

Does anyone know the e-mail address to the agents that we can contact about taking away the killing does any time of the year. I work overseas and don't get to hunt much. Now that they took this away. My chances off getting a deer has dropped. I know no matter what I say will change anything but if lots more people e-mail and we flood the office with e-mails supporting bring it back. Maybe we can get it changed back.

Doe season
You need to contact the main headquarters in Baton Rouge. An agent only enforces the laws that are passed and can't control what laws are passed.

I disagree with the new law of having doe days in our area while the rest of the state has the option to take a doe any day of the season. If the population is in a decline, shorten the days of the total season for gun and archery and give the option to kill a doe or buck on any open day or reduce the number of tags allotted per person across the state.

I think the state of Louisiana should look at other states that have way more deer and better quality than we do here.

I'm contacting you about taking away the killing does any time of the year. I work overseas and don't get to hunt much. Now that y'all took this away. My chances of getting a deer has dropped. I know no matter what I say will change anything but this is what i have to say and want to know what we as hunters has to do to change it back the way it was last year and why was it changed.

Also you can send an e-mail on this website. If we all start flooding their e-mail boxes with e-mails they might start listening.

When they were taking suggestion/comments about changing the season, I responded and told them pretty much the same as you. I work a schedule where I am not off most weekends so I would lose out on getting the opportunity to take a deer because of not having the option to kill a doe any day the season is open.

I got a response back but it was pretty much a generic letter saying my concerns and comments were appreciated and would be considered.

E-mail i got back Mr. Scott
Steve, I am not sure where you hunt but, but due to numerous factors such as a steady decline in the reported harvest, forest management practices, increasing hog numbers, several years of droughts, and other landscape and biological concerns, we felt the need for a pull back in certain areas of the state. Doe days were the best choice, according to hunters we surveyed to reduce harvest pressure at this time. We do not plan on keeping doe days permanently, but instead are working on more area specific seasons and limits. We appreciate your comments and wish you good luck this season.
