My nine year old son took his first rabbit last weekend. The greatest part it was taken in front some young beagels he's helped raise and with a Steve's Model 311 410. A gun that was bought for my dad when he was eigth years old, and he handed it down to me and I recently past the 52 year gun down to my son.

Congratulations ! My best hunting memories are rabbit hunting with brother's dog Queenie . I can take you to the spot where I got my first rabbit in front of Queenie . Keep the tradition going on the memories are for a lifetime !

Thanks for this story , you made me remember my first rabbit hunt with my Dad when I was 10 with a Savuage .410 crack barrel ----- also reminded me of my Son , his Mom didn't want me to take him hunting as she felt he was too young to handle and be around guns and told me to wait , so after she was deemed him old enough he had became an animal activist as I call him and as far as I know he has never shot a gun or killed any game in his life and he is 28 now , skipped a generation ------------ you have to start them young
