A Buck I killed yesterday, 11-19-13, that had no man parts down yonder, he weighed in at 162 lbs, on the hoof, still in velvet with knots all over the rack/junk on his head
hope this isn't to vulgar, but it is the only way to explain it....there was a small piece of skin it was urinating out of, in the proximity of the penis, behind there was no testicles.when skinning it out, it had the urinary tract of a buck, but no penis at all
yes Mike, after killing the deer I have researched it, they are called ''Cactus Deer''. Once they have an injury to their organ, or if they are born without the organ, they suffer from a testosterone defiency causing a hormone imbalance. They never shed their antlers and keep velvet year round.
Thx isucrazy....I kinda regret not caping it out for a shoulder mount, but I did take the head to the taxidermist today for a European mount to be attempted. He said the antlers have to be cut off and freeze dried to preserve the velvet. If he can't do the the European mount, he's just gonna do a antler mount on a plaque
I killed one very similar to that a few years back in St. Helena parish. I had seen it once the year before, but couldn't shoot it because of antler restrictions where I hunt. A few guys had pictures of it the next year and agreed to take it out if seen. Was one of the most exciting hunts I've ever had, anyone can kill an eight point, that is a once in a lifetime deer. Congrats!!
Here's a picture one of my buddies had. Sad that I shot this guy and didn't have a picture of it. He was also a pretty big body deer, around 155 lbs if I remember right. Had no branching at all, just what looks like two vulcanos.
