Phil Robertson 'suspended' from his own show for homosexual comments

Reply
I would like to encourage everyone to STOP WATCHING Duck Dynasty due to the A&E Network's preposterous attack against & suspension of Phil Robertson from the show for speaking what he and many other believe to be the indisputable Word of God pertaining to homosexuality. Even if you are pro-gay, you should be offended by the violation of Phil's FREEDOM of SPEECH. In today's perverted world, you are only attacked if you disagree with the homosexual agenda in America. Phil would have been given an honor from the network if he had made pro-gay comments instead. It's a saaaaad day in America. Praise God Almighty.

Phil Robertson for President.
I believe Phil Robertson embodies the core beliefs of the majority of americans.whether it's regarding homosexuality, faith, or just moral beliefs in general.

Its sad, GQ gave Phil a loaded questions. I mean what did they think the response would be of a religious southern Christian preacher? And who gives a Rats Butt about GLAAD? Do people really think they make up the audience that watches the show?
God bless Phil and his family. I applaude him for speaking his mind and standing by his beliefs. I wish the rest of the country would do it more. I hope that the rest of his family tells A&E to shove it and walks away, and don't become sell outs for the money.
I know they may be contractually bound to the show but if they are who they say then they should breach contract and sue A&E for firing Phil based on religious belief and freedom of speech/discrimination.

I sure another network would love to have the most watched TV show on the planet.

It was a poor show before his comment and also after his comment. So lets say I've been boycotting since it started. Freedom of speech applies. But when you work for a corporation, you don't have freedom of speech. It will be interesting if the rest of his family backs him up or sticks with the dollars ? My guess is they stick with A&E and the money.

I have seen it. I think its cool that they say the blessing before dinner everynight at the end of the show. I'm just not a fan of reality TV. I have no dog in this hunt. Just not a fan. If he really is a Christian like he says then why not practice it. The gospel says 'he who is without sin may cast the first stone'. Forgiveness of sin is why God sent us his savior. Especially now when we celebrate the birth of Christ we should practice forgiveness. Just saying, If we are Christians we cannot pick and choose the parts we want to practice. We have to practice ALL OF IT.

Phil explicitly acknowledged that he was/is a sinner and turned his life over to christ. He tries to live by the teachings of the bible and christ our savior.

He merely stated his belief; not judge.

He simply states that they will have to stand before the lord for judgement.

It was a loaded question by the reporter, knowing the Phil was a pasture and a very traditional person.

if you read the GQ article, the reporter had no intentions from the beinning of putting any positive light on him.

I STAND BY PHIL and the right of free speach.

I would much rather have a honest answer from a honest man than some dishonest answer from a poser trying to appease the liberal media and their sheep.

I suggest we all boycott A&E. And than purchase an item from Duck Commander, preferably a duck call. Mail it to A&E with a note to shuv it were the sun doesn't shine

Phil works for and represents the Discovery Channel, so they make the rules about what he can say or not say. it has nothing to do with his personal feelings on a particular subject.

They will soon discover what tough times are like when their best show no longer exists.

He is free to say what he wants. As long as he undersatnads it can effect his shows future. Which I think he does understand. Could it be this is all a promotional ploy to get the lambs to buy his endorsed products ? My guess it is, his sales will go up. Maybe he was getting tired of the show who knows? This is a great way to go out on top. For reference A & E stands for Arts and Entertainment. Last ime I checked the Arts and Entertainment business is has more G's and L's than any other industry.

100% for phil!!!! he was asked a question and he told the truth!!! sometimes telling the truth there will be consequences but he didn't worry about that. I wish our politicians would be more like phil, tell the truth the way they really feel but they know if they do they will suffer the consequences like not getting re-elected. I believe the whole family will back him up and get out of a&e! another more intelligent network will pick them up no problem, if they want!!

I love watching them, I do not know them personally, but I believe in my heart, that the family will stick behind there Dad. That show is probably just a drop in the bucket for what they make, I' m sure it has helped though. Our freedoms are vanishing little by little. As Americans we need to wake up, and elect the people to office that will make a difference.

Wow what would it be like to have a leader who would stand by CORE VALUES. This is a perfect opportunity for Americans to take back our country. Phil is the type of person we need.
This is how America was established. It needs to get back to its core.

fishnhuntdude, you were wrong. The family has said, no Phil, no show. It would be interesting to know who's, not so bright idea, it was for Phil to do an interview with GQ. That had zero chance of turning out well. Really? GQ, a metro-sexual fashion magazine? What were they expecting? Phil's top five grooming tips? That was a wreck looking for a place to happen.

Phil may be well intended but he is not a Biblical scholar. Matthew 7 & 19 make it clear that judging and wealth are tickets to hell. I hope he avoids all three.

If the truth be told, you can find passages in the Bible that support just about any position you want supported. Someone here posted that certain passages make it clear that judging is a ticket to hell. Well Jesus also said this:

51'Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; 52for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.…'

All that division necessarily proceeds from judgement. You can't follow Christ without making judgements about both behaviors and people.

Did Jesus get a ticket to hell for judging and throwing the money changers out of the temple? I don't think so. And what about when he told the adulteress to 'go and sin no more.' He had obviously judged her. You can judge and still show mercy.

People think they can point to this passage or that passage in the Bible to prove a point. That's rarely the case. You have to look at multiple passages and look at them in depth to get at the fullness of truth.

Go Phil Robertson!

Yeah I watch the show. Mainly because they are from Lousiana and I like to support our state. Reality TV is all a stunt but their personalities are who they are. I love the fact that they show their faith as a family in which we should all be doing.

What really ticks me off is every religion faith can say what they want and preach what they want except what we Americans believe. Soon as we say something that would offend other religions or culters we get hammered but others don't.

Most people of other culture or immigrants come to America cause we are a free country. If you want to come here to be free fine do that but don't try to change our country in to something its not and thats whats happening now. If you don't like what we say or preach go back to the hole you left that was so bad you had to leave.

Phil Robertson Im with you and believe what you believe. The Holy Bible. Am I a sinner? Yes we all are. But what A&E are doing along with the rediculouse media who are the reason this country is on a downfall is whats wrong with this country.

If this offends anyone than oh well. I am an American and proud of it. I don't tell anyone how to live or what to believe and I expect the same. But whats happening in our country has to stop.

And Piers Morgan you have to go just as bad as the anti christ Obama. Do us all a favor and just go.

Phil is probably a great guy and I am sure he is a christian. I just hate that you cannot walk through the store without seeing their names and faces plastered all over everything. Kinda reminds me of the Hannah Montana and Justin Beber craze. I also resent all the people that have picked up duck hunting to be like 'duck dynasty'. They go out there and shoot hawks and herons ect. Our sport could have done without that trash entering it. I wish they would have just stayed making good duck calls, and stayed off TV. My 2 cents.

A&E is a huge supporter of the gay and lesbian communtiy. They support groups that are fighting for homosexuals so that they can't be fired from their jobs because of their beliefs and way of life. Yet A&E is trampling on Phil's rights because of his beliefs and way of life.

Just another example of the one way street we now live on.

Hope they sue A&E for a bundle and win. This is a no brainer for a judge or jury. A&E's official statement on the matter said they were firing him because of his beliefs.

Your post makes no sense. First you say 'I love how they show their faith in family, which we should all be doing'. Then later in your post 'I don't tell anyone how to live or what to believe in'. Makes no sense to me. As far as religion goes, believe what you want, but remember it's just a belief, not proven. I believe the Saints can beat Carolina at home, but they didn't, I believe I can catch fish every time I take the boat out, but I don't. All this publicity is exactly what A&E wants, y'all are falling for the oldest trick in the book. I say get rid of cable, I haven't had cable in years and I believe my family is stronger without the dumb distractions that we, Americans, waste our lives with. Especially in Louisiana, we have plenty of good entertainment just outside your front door. You are right about one thing, the media and lawyers is what drives most Americans beliefs and thoughts. The downfall started when we, Americans, began to entertain instead of create, build and learn. You can stop watching the show all you want, but as long as you pay for cable and all the fancy packages, you are supporting the very one you trying to hurt. Does anyone here really believe any of these useless actors/actresses deserve the money they get? Your job, whatever it may be is much more important and useful for our economy than any T.V. show/movie. All we are is entertainment to the rest of the world that is making our clothes, food, building materials, etc...and taking our money until we have nothing left, which is coming very soon if we don't straighten up.

I know the Robertson\\\'s are trying to reach the world with Christ, so I am with them. I absolutely love the show and so does my wife! And because they don\\\'t set the bar high with shaving habits and my wife is a fan I don\\\'t shave much either.....Ahhhh, what has become socially acceptable!

Its such a contradiction in today\'s society with the stuff that goes on. Nudity, sex sex sex, pornography, violence, homosexuality. Popular media inundates us with this daily .Look at Miley Cyrus....... Then someone cites their beliefs from the Bible and they get blasted. Like they are from Mars. Oh, homosexuals like to preach about tolerance for their choice to sin, yet they are intolerant to a fundamentalist view from the bible? Tolerance is a two way street. I know this, Love is patient and Kind, Evil is not. Evil demands and seeks its own way. Look at what A&E is demanding Phil to do. Is that love demonstrated through action????

And to Phil\\\'s comments, I agree wholeheartedly. The Bible is pretty clear that homosexuality is a sexual sin. And that is not a judgement. We can still love the sinner though, after all if we are christian we all came from sin.

Romans Chapter 1
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is [g]unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing [h]indecent acts and receiving in [i]their own persons the due penalty of their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Don\\\'t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don\\\'t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (NLT)

I\\\'m not gonna sit here and pretend that I have not sinned, because I have and will continue to do so because I am human and I need Jesus! I have made him die on the cross so many times for my behaviors it is ridiculous.....I don\\\'t even want to get started. Praise God that through Grace I am saved though.

WOW...I didn't expect your response, but everyone has their say...that's why it's called a 'forum.' I thought it would be pretty clear that I am a Christian. I certainly knows a thing or two about the Bible (but I don't use it as a hammer). I am an American (45-yrs strong), and as a retired U.S. Marine & patriot, I'm pretty knowledgeable about my freedoms too--I fought for them.

BTW--Here' a message I sent to all my family & friends first thing this morning. now I'm sending it to you my friend: 'Merry Christmas. Unto this day the Savior (Jesus) was born. When He appeared, the soul felt its worth. Praise be to Him for all that He is & all that he's done.'

BTW--What message have you sent lately, besides this spiteful one?
