I could use some advice for duck hunting Manchac WMA. I have been out for multiple hunts and so far have 2 birds in the freezer. IT has gotten so bad that on the last 2 hunts I didn't see anything remotely close enough to shoot at. Is anyone having luck out there? I've tried some potholes and I even went down to the open area of the prairie on the last hunt and still nothing. Should I try mid-day hunts or is this just the year of no birds?

It's not what you are doing...
Manchac is dead this year probably till it ends. I have hunted Manchac since it became a public management area and I have never seen it this bad. No ducks at all, probably due to all of the birds still north of us up in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas. When they have a wet year like this past year then we can kiss our season in the SE goodbye. Cold front after cold front and still no birds coming down this year.
This area gets a lot of hunting pressure but in the past years the birds would move around and we would still shoot a few. There is hardy no one out there now, so it ain't the mud boats or the pressure now.
Buddy, pray for a drought next year up north of us otherwise this will be repeated.
