Regular visitor looking for people to hunt with / land to hunt on

Louisiana is what I've come to think of as my second home, so much so I ended up marrying one of your lovely ladies. However in my many visits to the state I've never been able to take part in a hog hunt and that's the next thing on my to-do list for the state. If anyone can help me with any information pertaining to locating land owners or other hunters it would be greatly appreciated. I'm very much a woodsman and I have plenty of firearms more than capable of doing the job, in particular I have a .270 I have been itching to add a hog body to. Thanks everyone.

i'm not much of a hog hunter, but if i were you i would look up the wma's in LA and contact them for information. (wildlife n fisheries website should have that info)

i'm not sure trying to contact a land owner is the best route to take simply because of liabilities and what not...but who knows, u might find someone with a hog problem who will let u come mow them down.

Don't expect for anyone to help you. I moved down here in May from Tupelo, Mississippi. The people down here are all jerks. This past weekend I was looking for a self permit station to check in and I asked a guy at a gas station and he had 'no idea'. Well 30 minutes later I met him at the station and the warden there called him by name. I could tell you all kinds of experiences like this. The land down here for leases is beyond ridiculous, and the clubs don't like new members. I've tried all of my connections and resources available to no avail. Even the game wardens. I met one and asked him for information and he said he would get back to me because I gave him my business card. Did I hear back? Heck no. I can't wait to leave this state and all the people that live in it. You're stuck with WMA property and all their garbage guidelines and regulations.

Well kkfoster, if your a jackwagon (and it certainly sounds like you are) what do you expect. To generalize 'everyone' being jerks, it sounds like there is a least common denominator in this equation. YOU!!!!! Tupelo called and they want their village idiot back. Get to steppen and don't look back. We won't miss ya. I can give you directions if you'd like. Were just nice like that in Louisiana.

full up.
We got enough people here already.the reason theyre not trying to help is obvious.my simple home town has been overrun by outsiders.the small out of place swamp i use to hunt and fish when i was young in walker turned into a hunting club.they ran roads through it dried it up and ruined it.i know sometimes you must relocate in life ,so to the original poster welcome and good luck but for the negative comments about our state GET OUT.katrina hurt our state by bringing in new peole.then you got the mexicans.once again get out.
