Reds at the Yscloskey bridge?

With the cold temperatures expected for Tuesday and Wednesday do you think the reds are going to be stacked at the Yscloskey bridge?

Wednesday morning looks the coldest so I'm thinking about heading down there and hoping to bring back some dinner.

U are madder at the fish than I am. Im sitting next to a heater bundled up and its still cold. Im pretty sure u will find them there. Water temp is around 45 and dropping now.Another spot to try is myrtle grove canal or grand bayou canal near port sulphur.

Everyone must be braving the cold inside today rather than fishing. Once the rain clears out tomorrow I'm going to head out there. Might have a few people who will brave the cold once the rain is gone.

I was out there also this morning, probably fishing across from you. I only caught 2 but they were too small. I only saw one keeper get pulled in. Tuesday and Wednesday I think are going to be the good days, I'll be back out there trying again.

it needs to stay cold for couple of days for that area to produce. It was cold yesterday but warmed up again today. water temperature was still around 44 degrees. think i read somewhere it needs to be around 40-41 for the reds to stay in that canal.

Tightly grouped fish can get fished out, too. During the last redfish run, I had a keeper with someone else's jig in his mouth that broke off. At the Chalmette trout community hole, one of my keeper trout had a gulp in his stomach.

Fish are not in infinite supply.

We may need a warm spell to spread fish throughout the marsh, then another cold blast for a fresh supply.

Went there Saturday caught reds all morning only one keeper out of almost 20 fish.

Got out there this morning and my buddy and I got out limit. People were catching left and right.

We got there at 8:00 and had our limit in 30 minutes. Catching reds on every cast

Mainly market shrimp but they had a few fishing with artificial that were catching also.

hey, me and a buddy wanted to give it a shot tomorrow morning, we just found out about this place (so sad) so it has to be super cold for the reds to be there? what time should we get there? sunrise? also my bud said i can get there by crossing the belle chasse ferry. we live on the westbank. thanks

My buddy and I ran out to the canal right after work. We were only able to fish for an hour and then it got dark. Within five minutes of pulling up, I was able to hook this nice 25' red. Thankful, a nice gentleman was kind enough to get out of his truck and he netted it for me. I ended up with 2 keeper reds and a few throw backs. We didn't limit out but had a great time in short period of time.

I just really hope we get another real good cold snap before spring. One more good jubilee in February would be incredible...and tasty!

Congratulations on everyone getting some fresh reds! I think the action is really going to start slowing down on Friday and be gone by Saturday.

I sure wish everyone luck going today. The sun was out yesterday which warmed the water. Not sure how today will be. We got our limit of 20 in under an hour. All avg 22-25in

Hey, it's spechound again. Look at the art Todd Mason wrote Jan 29 in the paper or on line at tmasson@nola.com It's called winter beach wonderland. They are catching giant reds in the surf at grand isle. Go get um.

It was pretty slow today. After being on fire yesterday with most people landing 25 or more nice size fish, it dropped off to nearly nothing today.

We only managed 5 keepers between two of us this morning and had several undersized fish.

The water has come back up and so has the temperature. It’s pretty much over until another strong cold front comes through.

It has to be a combination of freezing cold combined with extremely low water. Either condition by it self won’t do it. Perhaps one ore two more strong fronts will make it through this year.

Chris when the waters really cold it will be low. Reasoning is winds out the north makes the water temp drop. Also north winds blow all the water out of Hopedale. 30+ years of experience down there.

I've been hearing that the Reggio marina has been good. My friend went down there today and was able to limit out in under an hour. Just fish the bank across the street from the marina with a jig head and shrimp. I haven't been yet but trying to get down there soon.

Saw plenty of people at the bridge and Shell Beach, but had no luck personally. Went along the road in Reggio and came back with one red. Better than nothing, but I believe it's safe to say that it is now too warm to fish the bridge.

Are you like that guy off Bering Sea gold? On the gold dredge Anger management. If so I would be afraid to fish next to you. I might cross your line and you go ballistic. Start smashing tackle boxes and throwing boulders. Lol
