Make sure you go to one of the demo days that all the stores have. There's a lot of articles that say all kinds of things, but getting in the boat and paddling it, then getting into another one is the real proof. Make sure that the store brings the model you are interested in. When I got my last one (a wilderness tarpon), I had my eye on a different model. After testing it with some other models, I was sold. I would also recommend you go to Massey's (i see your in Baton Rouge) and rent one for a day and go fishing to see if you really like it. I love to paddle. I love to fish. I'm not a fan of kayak fishing. I use my kayak(s), canoe and pirogue, for exploration and adventuring. I fish out of my boat. Not dissing yak fishing at all. Just want you to know that you might not like it...or you might love it. Have fun. Be safe.
