Just got an email from the biologist Tony Vidrine that's in charge of the South Farm complex on Sherburne WMA saying that the crawfish season will begin on the 15th of March this year. I also asked him if the recent construction of the water control structures would mess up the crawfishing. His reply was that it will help the crawfishing this year. It's probably still too cold, and probably will be still too cold by the 15th, but soon as it warms a bit it should be on. If you've never been, it's a cool trip to make. My kids love it.
