Coming from Lake Charles, take Hwy 14 towards Holmwood. At Holmwood you will turn left, which is Hwy 14 and continue on 14 through Bell City and Hayes. After you get out of Hayes, you go about 2-3 miles to Illinois Plant Road, on the right in a curve. When you go down Illinois Plant Road, you will come to a stop sign continue straight. Make sure to obey the speed limit and stop sign, opening day of Lacassine usually has a deputy patrolling the road hard. Once you go through the gate at the pool entrance, go to the stop sign, turn left and you will go until the road turns back to the right. From that right turn to the end of the road is the area that you can only fish with non motorized boat or boats with trolling motors. This area is on the left side of the road once you make the right hand turn.
