Knats

Anyone know if they are bad in the Dularge at this time?

Not sure about the knats, but the gnats were horrible at the end of last week and throughout the weekend. Wear sleeves and pants and masks.

Ifs it's not hot or cold, and there is no wind, gnats will be thick. So will the knats. Dragonflies eat them in the summer.

Any type of cream will work on the hands....for a while. I just put on sunscreen. The best thing you can do is cover up as much as possible.

will a Thermacell work?

Although is sounds weird vanilla body spray from dollar general or any vanilla spray works excellent. I know it isn't the manliest thing but it works.

Mix 1/3 pure vanilla with 2/3 water and they will not bother you. Re-spray every few hours. You will smell like an ice cream cone but I promise you, they will not even come close to you. We had that problem at Lake St John a few years ago. You couldn't step outside or even open your mouth. A farmer up there that was harvesting his corn crop told us about it. I owe him my life!
