Back on the water!

Finally got to put my Triton back in the water. With hunting season and then a little medical issue Superbowl Sunday today was the day to see if the boat still floats. My daughter Amber(15) came along as first mate to keep me company. Really weren't trying real hard to fish as I mostly wanted to run the boat and burn some old gas. Our second spot turned out to be infested with hungry redfish. They really loved our bunker colored swim baits as they were crushing them before you could lock the reel. At one point the tide slowed as well as the bite. Tossed in some bait shrimp and it was on again with both reds and heads attacking our bait. Boated 25 reds and 10 heads in 2.5 hours before deciding we had enough. Great to be back at it and what a great day on the Du. Also met a regular poster on here on the water. Hey Capt. it was nice meeting you out there the other day. With the motors running and wind blowing out there it may have been a little hard to me but my name is Ramsey haha people get it mixed up with Randy all the time! figured out I just had a little water in my gas and the sensor was going off to let me know that. I drained the water fuel separator in the boat and on the motor and I was good to go for the rest of the day. It amazes me how high tech these motors are nowadays, they have sensors for everything. I'm glad ya'll had a good day out there tearing up the reds and sheepshead. I was thinking about heading into the gulf but with that alarm going off I decided to keep it safe. We ended up sitting right where you saw us for a couple hours and caught huge black drum til we got tired haha that 8 year old kid on board the boat with us had a great time. He was so excited to land those big 30 pound monsters haha we even kept 4 or 5 of them for him and his dad to clean. Prolly ruined a few filet knives over those but he would have been devastated is we released them. Can't wait til trout fishing turns back on once the weather cooperates. Nice meeting you man. Ricky its nice to see that you are back in action. I talked to some of the young men in your family at the show this past weekend.

Thanks Capt. Tommy, It felt great to get back out there. Really nice to have a great trip after being off the water for a while. And then to spend it with my daughter, even better. Got to cherish those trips. My son graduates this year and will be off to LSU so his trips maybe limited for a while. Got to make the most of every one.
