Ford f 150

Reply
I know this is not related but maybe someone can help. I have a 28 foot bumper pull camper it weighs 6000 lbs. I pull it with a Chevy 2500 but need new truck . I am looking at the ford f150. Does anyone pull similar things with a truck like that I am looking at the 5.0 with 3.73 gears. Any info would be great I was wondering how it handled down the highway.

'the ploan', Two wheel drive or 4 wheel, it makes a difference, so says the camper sales people. They say the 2 wheeler can handle more weight. I think you're ok. I had an f-150 4 wheel drive with the 5.4 and a 9000 # bumper pull camper and I would say that truck was at it's limit. Only problem with that one was the Luling bridge, 40 mph and 3000 RPM. I have since upgraded to an f-250 Power Stroke turbo diesel and it doesn't even downshift. Have fun with the f-150 it should ok at 6000#.

if you planning to pull semi often get a diesel no doubt!! then get a programmer for it. they make it even better. more horsepower and lot more fuel economy!

I have a ford f150 2014 with the 5.0 and towing package. I also have a 28 ft camper one of the older ones that is heavier. It pulls it ok but you can sure feel it and you will burn a lot of gas. according my milage guage I get 11 miles a gallon pulling it.
