bearings on utility trailer

Reply
I have a 14 foot dual axle utility trailer with buddy bearings. we carry a Polaris razor and one 4 wheeler most of the time. with the buddy bearings pumped up, how many miles do you think we could go, before we would need to pump them up again??? all opinions appreciated!!

I guess it depends on how well the rear seal does it's job. I probably over grease by pumping up every other fishing trip. One thing I do now is to look at the spring to see if it's compressed or extended on the stainless or chrome plated types. Caution though, sometimes the moving inner part that the spring works against gets stuck in the full position and the rear bearing will run dry. It happened to me and one of my wheels completely fell off at the marina and floated away.
