DO NOT LAUNCH AT SERINGE'S!

Attention recreational fishermen,

I had the worst experience at SERINGE's Marina. Saturday, some buddies and I went to Delacroix to get in on the fishing action. The launch at Seringe's had several boats in line, so we headed to the Sweetwater Marina launch. Unfortunately, Sweetwater was out of live shrimp, so we boated over to Seringe's to see if they had live shrimp. I asked the woman at Seringe's if she had any live shrimp and how much. She said yes and her next response shocked me. 'How much are they charging everywhere else?', she questioned me. I informed her that I haven't bought live shrimp in years, and wouldn't know. She then questioned me if I launched at her launch, in which I responded, 'no ma'am, we launched at the other marina.' She then informed me that since I didn't launch my boat there, I couldn't purchase her shrimp. I even offered to pay for the boat launch and she refused and told me to 'go fishing' and 'get on out'. She was extremely rude and unprofessional, and I would advise not to use her services. She will never get my business and I will advise that nobody launches at her place. The people at Sweetwater Marina were nicer, unfortunately, they were out of bait.

Shrimp Nazi strikes again! I swear I can't see how that place stays in business.

That is exactly what we said, instead of Seinfeld's 'Soup Nazi', we also coined her the 'Shrimp Nazi'!

'NO SHRIMP FOR YOU! NEXT!'

Anybody who knows anything about Delacroix knows the following:
#1) Jack has trouble keeping shrimp alive ... You would think he would figure this out because he can put the Serignes out of business if he would
#2) Old man Serigne ALWAYS has live shrimp ... He simply knows how to do it.
#3) If you don't launch at Serignes, you aint buying their shrimp ... Stupid move by you!!

With that said you should have asked the old lady how Fathers Day was at St Bernard Parish Prison with her nasty child molesting kids??

Jack always puts in his reports he the second launch I tell him he wrong he's the only launch. He may at times not have shrimp but usually lets people know in advance he says try Bait Inc. Jack has always tried his best to help the customer. Who else chase you down in a golf cart to give you a ride back to the launch? when did sereigne ever help you launch your boat if you were alone? Need I say more Sweetwater is the only launch in Delocroix period. mike from abita

Yes, I am new to Delacroix. I have heard great things about the fishing down there. This was my second time to fish Delacroix and probably my last. The woman could at least have the decency to have a sign that states, 'No Launch, No Bait.' I would have, at the least, respected that.

But come on, what does it matter! I want to do business in a place of business. With that reasoning, am I suppose to buy gas at a gas station if all I want is a soda? I even offered to pay for the launch. The fact is that woman is just plain NUTS!!

Unfortunately, Jack was not at the launch. Some young female was tending the place and didn't know when the next batch of bait would be in. We arrived late due to a bad wreck on I-10 that kept us in traffic for over an hour.

No launch no shrimp
their rule has been in effect for probably 30 years or more , I think 'her' attitude is and always has been about as bad as it can be , I thank her for being the way they were cause I got a slip at Beshnels in la Hache in 1978 and had it till 98 --------- although I think it is for different reasons now , in all fairness to that rule I remember how it got started and at the time it seem fair , years ago they had electric hoists going , on weekends of fish runs there would be 100 trucks and boats waiting in line to launch there ( I know cause I counted them before while going past them ) and people like me who didn't care about putting my trailer in the water would pass all the people in their line and launch at the End of the World with maybe 5 trucks in line , and people who launch at the end and didn't get their bait before going down there would jump over and get bait , and people who sat in their line when they ran out of bait got mad and would complain about the guys who didn't launch here and got the last 100------

We went down there 2 weekends ago. This website said that they did not know if there would shrimp at Capt. Jack's. This caused a stampede at this other launch. I pulled up very early there and there were many people buying shrimp and only one guy counting shrimp. What the hell is that?

So now I understand that there is a little battle going on between the 2 launches so much so that Jack - who I like, and his mates, are trawling their own live shrimp.

To me an easy solution, dont say what you can and cant do. Its expected. But you will be measured by how good your product is and your info.

Quite this BS. We need to work together.

Customer for life
Jack has a customer for life after last weekend. Can't wait till he gets the gas up and running. He truly wants his customers to get first rate service.
Thanks to all Sweetwater crew !

With people like that you just have to out think them....

1. pull up at Serigne's
2. while you are waiting in line, go in and pay for a launch and get your shrimp
3. get back in your truck, and go launch at sweetwater
4. smile and wave at the shrimp nazi as you pass

I'd love to see a lot of people do this, it would be worth a few bucks to see her face -- think that would pi$$ her off?

I think the icing on the cake would be to use her launch to get the boat out of the water after fishing!

Glad to hear the old bat hasn\'t lost her edge. LOL! I doubt her lil angels are in the St. Bernard lockup. One got life and the other around 30 years if I remember correctly.

Captain Jack - Sweetwater Marina
Capt. Jack doesn't have a feud with anyone and has always been willing to work with and be helpful to anyone and everyone he meets. Those of you who are regulars at Sweetwater and have met Jack know this already. He is working very hard to get his shrimp boat up and running and to get fuel put in to make his business better, not to put anyone out of business. Once he has live bait and fuel on a regular basis it will be available to anyone, no matter where they launch. His goal is not and has never been to put anyone out of business. Anyone who fishes Delacroix regularly knows there is plenty of business to go around.

I've never been to Serigne launch and I never will go. If Jack is closed, i'll go to Shell Beach. I want nothing to do with people like her and from what I read, I want less to do with the family.

Happened to me
I've been fishing out of Lionel's since I was a little kid. About 15 years ago, me and some friends stayed at a camp in Reggio and ran to Serigne's via boat the following morning. She saw us pull up and told us 'no launch no bait' before we were even tied up. They have had that rule for a long time. I remember for a stretch she was being pretty nice, to the point where you took notice. This was 5-7 years ago.

I haven't been to Delacroix since the '90's. In 1996 I bought my first bay boat, as did 2 friends of mine. We fished all over, trying to find the 'right place'. Launched at Serignes 3 or 4 times. The first time, I felt a vibe that newbies weren't welcome. As I remember, it wasn't very busy that morning, so I tried to chat with them. No dice, very rude, gave the benefit of the doubt. Tried them a couple more times, then gave up on Delacroix.
Everywhere else we went, was a different story.
Bridgeside, great people.
Joe's Landing, always happy to see customers
Campo's, Blackie and Kenny were always happy to see you and give you some tips.
Breton Sound, Capt. Barry (rip) and crew very friendly and helpful. We ended up concentrating our efforts in Hopedale and Shell Beach, for both the fishing and the 2 great marinas down there.

Awful place
Serignes Launch gives me the creeps. All I can think of is all of the young toddlers that were sexually abused.

Serigne's = Morons. Its been that way forever. I would never give my money to someone that treats me like that. Didnt some Serigne's get convicted of some crime against nature not to long ago?

It's been several years since I have been there but he used to carry cocahoes. He always acted like someone had just taken a dump in his Cheerios though.

so clueless
Its amazing such a Seinfeld character could exist in our marinas. This is the 20-ish time I've seen such a post, so it must be true. The 'soup' must be the dependable live shrimp and gasoline, neither of which Sweetwater has yet.

Their vile must be from another era as someone else suggested, because it makes no sense to act like this when information flows so easily to websites such as this. They must really be clueless.

I'm rooting for Sweetwater. When they get their live shrimp steady, I hope they sweep the deck.
