CHALMETTE REFINING PETITION

We REALLY need everyone's help on this petition readers. As of Thursday (8/14) afternoon we ONLY have 813 signatures. It's getting somewhat frustrating and starting to make me ask myself why did I ever start this petition if there is so LITTLE support for it?

PLEASE tell all your friends and neighbors about the petition and URGE them to sign on. ALSO, please continue to call the Chalmette Refining phone numbers I list on my website. It they don't hear from us anymore, they will conclude the 'Public Outcry' is over and will NEVER go back to manufacturing and selling non ethanol gas.

My website is www.PeteLandrysRealGas.com

When you open the website and see the 'Home' page, just look to the right of my picture and you will see the ORANGE bar which reads 'Sign Petition Now'. Just click on it and it will open a form and instruction on completing the form. It's IMPORTANT that you complete EVERY LINE in the form for the petition to be valid.

If you run into any problems or questions, e-mail me at way2gopete@yahoo.com

I've got a suggestion that would more than likely get you all the signatures you want. It would pull signatures from not only south east Louisiana, but from the whole country.

I guess only 813 people truly understand the effects of ethanol fuel in marine engines. I see the damage it does almost every day and guess what, evan after repairs are made people still use ethanol fuel. '' You just can't fix stupid''

Wow 813 is a really poor response , especially after being on WWL with Don DeBeuk and all , I don't think WWL has the following it once had , maybe people realize that petitioning the refinery is the wrong approach as the refinery doesn't make the regulations , they are just complying with them

I am also surprised at the low response. I will re-post to my site also. Hopefully we can bring this number up.

pathfinder will not respond and if he does it wont make any sense, we got to many pathfinders in this country!!!!

I think its because most people just dont see the direct correlation that ethanol has on engines. Sure u have published reports and anectdotal complaints but they use this stuff everyday on the their cars, boats( I see plenty of them using this stuff every weekend at the pumps I pass) and have been doing it for years and most will tell u they see no difference that ethanol does this much damage to an engine. Therefore they just wont get all worked up for the cause. Combined with the fact that ethanol free fuels usually run 20-30 cents higher, its really an uphill battle.

Its social science. Complacency is hard to overcome. Something must be truly catastrophic to get a majority response. Its the real world. Doesn't make it right, just the way it is.

I was one of the first to sign the petition. But I'm not surprised by the lack of initiative....even for something that only takes a couple of minutes.

The way the petition started at about 100 signatures per day, I thought we'd have 2,000 - 3,000 by now. I just don't understand why readers don't join the petition? Considering that Louisiana Sportsman sees near 1 million readers per day, the lack of response makes no sense.

When readers see a letter I am writing, they will be SHOCKED at the availability of conventional, non ethanol in States you'd least expect. I hope to complete the letter mid week coming. I'll post when I'm complete and post the letter on my website.
