If you do have to blood trail, just remember to go slowly and carefully. If there is blood everywhere it won't be a problem, but in my experiences many times it is one drop here, another there and proceeding too quickly can cause you to lose the trail by accidentally missing or stepping on a key piece of blood evidence. It is best if you do it with a partner, as one can hold the spot, while the other looks ahead. If you are alone, use a piece of toilet paper or trail ribbon to mark the last spot and to help keep you from getting lost, especially if it is at night. Also always bring a back up light. I find that a small headlight works well while trailing. The one I use is the Primos Top Gun. I look forward to seeing your first bow kill on this website. Good luck and be safe!
