Going to Lafitee this Thursday and Friday, any trout moving in yet? I know we always find some reds, but would really like to know if i can expect some of those yellow mouths?

What I can say is this, that wind was a monster. We ended up catching 25 reds both days, 5 to a boat, trout were a no go. I talked to several guides there and they all were saying trout just aren't there yet. Caught a few sheep head, but mostly reds.

We went down yesterday with two boats and two guys to each one. Launched out of Myrtle Grove and went down to Airplane Bay and Bay Cray area after getting some third hand reports that the specks were finally moving in and to look for the birds. Well, as usual, the wind was more than forecast and the water was a little dirty. Saw birds (not the lying ones)diving in one area just one time and caught a 11.5 incher. Nothing after that one. We proceeded to catch lots of rat reds, 5 keeper reds, 3 sheepheads and 7 black drums with some throw back drums. Most caught with a piece of shrimp on a jig head or on a plastic, either under a cork or tightlining. Crums caught around pilings . So it looks like we have to wait even longer for specks to move up. I can't recommend going down there yet if you are targeting specks.
