2 trees or stump lagoon area?

Reply

I finally have a saturday off and will fish. wind looks like it will be out of the s.e. but under 10. I havent been in a long time so I am hoping to catch some trout and reds or whatever is biting. not very familiar with lake of 2 trees area but it looked pretty good when i went once this summer(i mainly fish hopedale lagoon/ ameda area). Not sure if any trout have made it to the lagoon yet. i was also thinking of stump and muscle. thanks guys taking a friend who has never fished in louisiana before and want to show him a good time.

bays
if trout is what u are after,I would fish points and passes in two trees, coquille, and robin area. If reds are your target, i would hit muscle, petes, and cutoff.

fishing
winds have been kinda low. Unless its blowing 20, u will still be able to find points to fish.1 or 2 calm days and things start to clear out. I fish out of pt ala hache and i dont venture into interior marsh until late november december. Still out in the big bays now. when i used to fish out of hopedale i wouldnt make my transition to muscle bay area until around thanksgiving.

depends
Depends on if its trout or reds. If its reds, just fish any protected marsh you are familiar with. If its trout, the numbers are on the edges right now. The problem with Two Trees is a strong south wind messes it up. Then, fish in protected areas of Christmas Camp and further east.

With that said, I'm bumping into trout in the interior marsh now while fishing reds, just not large numbers.

Just keep moving
Everything Dr. Spot said is accurate. Just keep sticking and moving. Drift the choke points of bayous connecting bays where the tide is moving through. Dont throw the anchor unless the you get four to five back to back. Four to five trout in the boat not four to five bites. Pick which area you will fish based on where you think the cleaner water will be. I don't believe that either area is better than the other right now. If you want a mess of trout then hit the edges of bay eloi or black bay depending on wind direction.

went saturday morning and started in stump and worked through lake eugene. saw bait but not shrimp in the water. did not catch many fish but had a great time. couple of trout and one red. trolling motor went out on me early. started making a big rumbling noise and the prop went very slow. turned off quickly and when i ran the boat the wind would spin the prop which has never happened before. hope its nothing huge but it probably is. anyway that changed the way i normally fish so i tried to points coves and cuts. didnt do great but better than being home. thanks for the help
