Biloxi WMA Horse Power Restrictions

For the guys the duck hunt Biloxi WMA and use surface drives or anything bigger than a 16hp engine, we might want to pay attention to the proposed horse power restrictions for Biloxi WMA.
Below is from the wild life and fisheries web site.

'Limiting the use of mud boats or air-cooled propulsion vessels on Biloxi WMA to straight shaft, long tail, air-cooled mud motors that are 16 total horsepower or less'

yep. This is the request of the landowner that leases the land to the state. It is back to flatboats and pirogue.

That's a done deal. The HP restriction applies to aircooled long tails only. Regular (water cooled) outboards are good to go and surface drives are out. The land owner found excessive property damage since surface drives have become so widely used.

I think its a great idea and good choice by WLF. I might have to start hunting Biloxi WMA. We do good down river with the Carolina and pirogues.
