My name is Adam and I'm tired of borrowing rifles for deer season. I am considering the 35 Whelen cartridge but would like a few opinions on the make/model to go with. I'm leaning toward the CVA apex but what do yall think? I plan on hunting this rifle all season not just for primitive. Shots range from 50 to 200 yards depending on where I go. I want an accurate, dependable rifle that wont knock me out of the tree stand! Any advice is appreciated. I dont want to spend more than 500 on the rifle itself. Have any of you heard of issues with the 35 not firing? Something due to the cartridge shoulder is what I've read. 45-70 is a solid round too.
