Simon's Outboard on Roddy Road. Don't just bring your boat, you need to talk to him first. NOBODY touches my motor except for him.

All in with Simon and Casey great guys

I called Simon first bc he was the closes to me. Well it seems like NOONE wants to work on the fitch ram motors. I've called at least 15 shops from baton Rouge to kenner and only 3 shops will touch it.
Big wheel marine in hammond

that motor has a bad rep. If u think its something major might as well bite the bullet and repower, otherwise you're just throwing money at a sinking ship.

i dont think it could be major but i dont know much about them. it starts and idles fine and runs fine over 1/4 throttle. but around 1/4 throttle it runs really rough and kills. once you get on it, it dont miss a beat

My neighbor has the same motor but a 200hp. I would first check your fuel lines from tank to motor for leaks. That model had many computer problems. It cost him about $1200 to have the board sent off to be repaired.

...Geronimo sez it looks like that engine gonn'a $100 and $200 you to death...might be better off finding a used popular one...cheers

What year is the motor. the later year motors were awesome. early fichts were junk. I have an 03 and it runs like a typewrite as long as i gap the plug around every 50hrs. That computer is water cooled and if you ever over heated and kept running it you prob fried the thermocoupling hence. I had a similiar problem. I could start motor and it would run fine until it got warm then would cut off. If i started it and got on it it would stay running because water was being circulated. eventually i fried the computer. If i knew what i know now i would have had it looked at earlier. 1200 for to have computer sent off and and fixed from evinrude. Performance marine works on mine but only if i have to. Long story short take pics and videos of everything before you bring it. the mech ended up breaking my starter housing. he also mounted the motor crooked on the boat and didnt put any zip ties or hose clamps on some of the piping in my motor. There is an evinrude mechanic in prairieville but i can't remember his name. he has a huge shop behind his house. His son is a cert. tech for evinrude.
Since the comp. fix its been a great motor. Good on gas n oil! with my 19ft bass boat loaded it does 60s

Check your compression. One of my old motors did this same thing. It ran good till you slowed it down and it would kill. Burnt piston's on one side. Good luck.

It's a 04, I found a guy in reservery that I'm taking it to in the am. it boggs as soon as I start giving it gas out of a idle. Not even moving yey so I don't think it's the wake. I really hope it's not a burnt cylinder. it runs to good idling or opened up that would just really make me sick. Thanks for the help guys
